Pratima Devi Rana has filed a fresh challenge to the settlement of the Sindhia family's assets worth over ₹41,000 crore, alleging signature fraud. The matter is scheduled for a hearing today in Gwalior court.

The Sindhia royal family, one of Madhya Pradesh's most prominent lineages, has been embroiled in a protracted dispute over assets valued at more than ₹41,000 crore. Earlier negotiations produced a settlement that aimed to divide the extensive holdings among family members.

On Tuesday, Pratima Devi Rana submitted an application challenging that settlement, contending that the signatures on the agreement were forged. She claims the fraud undermines the legitimacy of the entire arrangement and seeks to have the settlement set aside.

The court in Gwalior has scheduled a hearing for today to consider Rana's allegations. If the judge finds merit in the fraud claim, the previously agreed division could be annulled, potentially reopening negotiations and further litigation.

Legal experts note that such high‑value property disputes often involve intricate documentation and multiple stakeholders, making any allegation of forgery a serious matter. The outcome of today's hearing will likely shape the next phase of the asset split and could set a precedent for similar aristocratic estate disputes in India.
