Gujarat Vidyapith has officially reopened its Tribal Museum, reviving a cultural space dedicated to tribal heritage in Ahmedabad.

Gujarat Vidyapith, the university founded by Mahatma Gandhi, announced the reopening of its Tribal Museum in Ahmedabad. The museum, which showcases artifacts, photographs and information about the state's tribal communities, had been closed for a period of time before the recent reopening.

The institution said the revival aims to promote awareness of tribal cultures and provide a learning resource for students, researchers and the general public. Exhibits include traditional tools, clothing, and artworks that reflect the diverse customs of Gujarat's tribal groups.

University officials welcomed visitors and highlighted the museum's role in preserving intangible heritage. The reopening aligns with broader efforts across the state to strengthen cultural education and community engagement.

The museum will remain open to the public during regular university hours, offering guided tours and educational programmes for school groups.

Stakeholders are expected to use the venue for seminars and cultural events, further integrating tribal narratives into the academic environment.
