The Gujarat government has announced a plan to fit rooftop solar systems on 15,000 government buildings, targeting an additional 65 MW of renewable capacity.
The initiative is part of the state’s effort to increase clean energy use, reduce carbon emissions and lower electricity costs for public sector operations.
Implementation will be carried out in phases, with coordination between the state electricity board and municipal authorities, and is expected to be completed by 2025.
