Gujarat police, under Operation Mule Hunt, have arrested a man from Rajasthan for allegedly orchestrating a cyber fraud that caused losses of around Rs 5 crore.

Gujarat police announced today that they have taken into custody a suspect from Rajasthan in connection with a large‑scale cyber fraud that reportedly siphoned off roughly Rs 5 crore. The arrest was made as part of the ongoing "Operation Mule Hunt," a coordinated effort to dismantle networks that facilitate online financial scams.

According to officials, the investigation traced digital footprints and financial transactions that linked the accused to multiple fraudulent schemes targeting individuals and businesses across state lines. The suspect is alleged to have acted as a middleman, coordinating with other operatives to move illicit funds through online channels.

Law enforcement officials declined to disclose the suspect's name, citing procedural reasons, but confirmed that the individual will be presented before a court in Gujarat. The police have also indicated that further arrests may follow as the probe continues to uncover additional members of the fraud network.

The case underscores growing concerns about cybercrime in India, prompting state agencies to intensify collaborative operations aimed at curbing digital fraud and protecting investors.
