The Ministry of Home Affairs has placed Gujarat on alert after warning of heavy rainfall stemming from an inland depression.
The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has issued an alert for the state of Gujarat following a warning of heavy rainfall caused by an inland depression. This alert places Gujarat among several states that are currently on heightened vigilance for potential weather-related disruptions.
The inland depression, a low‑pressure system moving over the interior region, is expected to bring significant rainfall to Gujarat. Meteorological data indicate that the system could produce sustained downpours, increasing the risk of flooding in low‑lying areas.
Residents and local authorities are advised to monitor weather updates closely and prepare for possible waterlogging and road closures. The MHA’s alert serves as a precautionary measure to help mitigate the impact of the anticipated heavy rains.
