The government is initiating eco‑tourism development at several natural sites to promote sustainable travel and protect biodiversity.
New government initiatives are under way to develop eco‑tourism facilities at a range of natural locations across the country. The effort aims to combine tourism growth with environmental safeguards, ensuring that visitor infrastructure does not compromise fragile ecosystems.
Officials say the projects will focus on creating low‑impact amenities such as nature trails, interpretive centres and eco‑friendly accommodation, while involving local communities in management and benefit‑sharing. By encouraging responsible travel, the scheme seeks to generate livelihood opportunities for residents of nearby villages.
The initiative aligns with broader national goals of promoting sustainable development and meeting international climate commitments. Detailed plans are being prepared, and pilot work is expected to begin at select sites later this year.
