New Delhi – The Jammu and Kashmir government has officially stated that there is no proposal on the table to increase the medical allowance for its employees from the existing ₹300 to ₹1,000. The clarification came after media reports and social media posts suggested that a substantial hike was being considered.
Officials said the current allowance of ₹300 per month remains unchanged and that any alteration would require a formal notification from the department of personnel. No draft or circular has been circulated among the staff, the spokesperson added.
The statement was reported by Kashmir Life, which quoted a senior government official confirming the denial. The agency reiterated that the rumor had no basis in official policy.
Until a formal announcement is issued, the medical allowance for J&K state employees will continue at the present rate.
