The central government has named four new governors for Indian states and transferred existing governors in two states, as announced in a recent notification.
The Ministry of Home Affairs issued an official notification today appointing four new governors to oversee different Indian states. The names of the appointees were not disclosed in the brief release, but the decision marks a significant reshuffle in the country's federal administration.
In addition to the fresh appointments, the government announced the transfer of incumbent governors in two states, effectively swapping their postings. This move is intended to bring fresh perspectives to the respective state administrations and ensure smoother coordination with the centre.
The changes come ahead of upcoming state legislative sessions, where the governors are expected to play a constitutional role in overseeing the legislative process and ensuring compliance with national policies. The Home Ministry has urged the newly appointed officials to focus on good governance and uphold the constitutional mandate of their offices.
