Godzilla Minus Zero to Dominate U.S. Box Office with $30M Opening Weekend

'Godzilla Minus Zero', released on July 20, 2024, is a joint venture between Toho and Legendary Pictures. Variety reports the film is expected to pull in $30 million during its opening weekend, the highest debut for a Godzilla film in the United States. The projection places it well ahead of Disney’s 'Cat in the Hat', which is slated to earn about $20 million. Industry analysts note that the strong opening could signal renewed interest in the franchise and set the stage for future releases. The studio plans to capitalize on the momentum with targeted marketing and a staggered international rollout.
