The Government of Goa has decided to roll out its disability survey across the state following successful pilot runs in the Sanguem and Bicholim regions.

The Government of Goa has announced the extension of its comprehensive disability survey across the entire state after the pilot phase in the Sanguem and Bicholim areas yielded promising results.

The pilot survey, conducted over the past months, aimed to identify the prevalence and types of disabilities among residents in these districts, and to assess the accessibility of public services. Data collected highlighted gaps in infrastructure and service delivery, providing a clear roadmap for future interventions.

With the pilot deemed successful, the state government will now deploy the survey methodology statewide, employing trained enumerators to gather data from every village and town. The initiative is part of Goa’s broader commitment to inclusive development and to ensuring that persons with disabilities receive the support they need.

Officials expect the expanded survey to inform policy decisions, improve resource allocation, and ultimately enhance the quality of life for millions of Goans living with disabilities.
