Goa's Chief Minister announced the renovation of the Old Hospicio, aiming to alleviate the bed shortage at the State General District Hospital (SGDH).
The Goan government has unveiled plans to renovate the historic Old Hospicio building, a move that the Chief Minister says will help ease the chronic bed shortage at SGDH.
The Old Hospicio, located in the heart of Goa, has long been a landmark but its facilities have become outdated, limiting its capacity to support the growing demand for inpatient care.
According to the CM, the renovation will upgrade infrastructure, expand patient wards, and introduce modern medical equipment, thereby increasing SGDH's overall bed capacity.
The project is slated to begin next month, with an estimated completion timeline of 18 months, and the government has pledged to keep the public informed on progress.
