The Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry has called for streamlined GST compliance and regulatory reforms to ease the burden on the state’s micro, small and medium enterprises.
The Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) has formally appealed to the state government for a simplification of Goods and Services Tax (GST) compliance for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) operating in Goa.
In its submission, the chamber highlighted that the existing GST filing procedures are intricate and consume considerable time and resources, diverting attention from core business operations.
GCCI has suggested practical steps such as reducing the frequency of returns, introducing a more straightforward return format and providing clearer guidance tailored to the scale of small traders.
The chamber believes that easing GST obligations will improve cash‑flow management and enhance the competitiveness of Goa’s small‑business sector.
State authorities have been asked to consider the proposals, with a response expected in the coming weeks.
