Gaya Prepares for Pitripaksha Fair with Vibrant Ramayana Murals on Temple Walls

Ahead of the 2026 Pitripaksha fair, the city of Gaya is decorating key religious sites with large murals depicting scenes from the Ramayana, Radha–Krishna, and other cultural motifs.
Gaya, Bihar, is gearing up for the upcoming Pitripaksha fair by adorning its major religious sites with elaborate murals. The city’s initiative focuses on enhancing the visual appeal of key locations to celebrate the fair’s spiritual significance.
Large-scale paintings have been applied to the walls of Vishnu Pad Temple, Sitakund, Devghat, and Akshayvat Vedi. These murals feature scenes from the Ramayana, depictions of Radha–Krishna, representations of the Chhath festival, and portrayals of Gaya’s historical and spiritual importance.
The project aims to revive Gaya’s ancient cultural heritage and attract visitors during the fair, showcasing the city’s devotion and artistic tradition.
