Gandak River level at Dumaria Ghat stays 1.5 m above danger mark, officials warn of possible 0.5 m rise overnight

Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary conducted an aerial survey of flood‑hit areas in Vaishali, Saran, East Champaran and Gopalganj districts. The fly‑over recorded the water level of the Gandak River at Dumaria Ghat to be one and a half metres above the predefined danger mark. Authorities warned that the river could gain another fifty centimetres during the night, potentially intensifying the flood situation. In response, the CM issued directives to district officials to intensify monitoring, ready evacuation plans and reinforce embankments where necessary. No casualties or major damage have been reported so far, but the government urges residents in vulnerable villages to stay alert and follow safety instructions.
