Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari said the new Delhi‑Haridwar corridor, expected to cut travel time to 1.5 hours, will open by the end of 2025.
Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari announced that a new corridor linking Delhi with Haridwar will reduce the journey to about 1.5 hours. The project, part of the national highway upgrade plan, is slated to be operational by the end of 2025.
The faster route will bypass several congested sections of the current NH 58, providing a direct link that is expected to boost tourism and commerce between the national capital and the pilgrimage city.
Gadkari highlighted that the corridor will also improve safety and reduce fuel consumption for commuters. The government has already cleared the land acquisition and environmental clearances, and construction is set to begin next year.
