Fraudster Poses as Deputy Tehsildar, Dupes Anganwadi Worker of ₹50,000 in Indore

In Indore's Banganga area, a fraudster impersonating a deputy tehsildar convinced anganwadi worker Keshkali Pal Yadav to transfer ₹50,000 for toilet repairs, then vanished with the money. Police have registered a case and are investigating.
The incident took place in the Banganga police station limits of Indore, where the fraudster contacted the anganwadi worker claiming to be a deputy tehsildar.
He told Keshkali Pal Yadav that funds for toilet repair under a government scheme needed to be transferred to a specific bank account, and she complied, sending ₹50,000 via online means.
After the transfer, the suspect disconnected communication and the worker realised she had been cheated; she reported the matter to police, who have filed a case and are tracing the transaction.
