A sudden chemical leak in the Goregaon industrial area of Mumbai has killed four people, officials said.
Mumbai authorities confirmed that a chemical leak at an industrial facility in Goregaon on September 27 resulted in four fatalities. Emergency services were dispatched immediately after residents reported a strong, noxious odor and visible fumes spreading across the neighbourhood.
The Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB) and local police have cordoned off the site, evacuating nearby households and setting up a temporary medical camp. Hospital officials said the victims suffered severe respiratory distress and were pronounced dead on arrival.
