Police in Greater Noida’s Knowledge Park Kotwali busted a counterfeit currency ring, arresting four suspects and recovering 920 fake Rs200 notes worth Rs1.84 lakh.

Police from the Knowledge Park Kotwali station in Greater Noida conducted a raid that exposed a network dealing in counterfeit currency. Four individuals were taken into custody after investigators linked them to the production and distribution of fake Rs200 notes.

During the operation, officers recovered 920 counterfeit notes, each bearing a face value of Rs200, amounting to a total of Rs1.84 lakh. The gang is reported to have offered the fake notes to buyers at three times their nominal value, misleading victims into paying inflated prices.

Senior police officials said the suspects will face charges under the Indian Penal Code and the Prevention of Money Laundering Act. The case is being forwarded to the Economic Offences Wing for further investigation, and authorities have warned the public to remain vigilant against similar scams.

The seizure underscores ongoing efforts by law‑enforcement agencies in Uttar Pradesh to curb counterfeit currency operations that threaten financial stability and consumer trust.
