Former chief minister Ashok Gahlot accused the Bhajanlal administration of neglecting drought‑hit areas and failing to provide fodder and water for livestock, urging immediate relief measures.
Ashok Gahlot, who served as Rajasthan's chief minister from 1998 to 2003, publicly criticised the current Bhajanlal government for its handling of a severe drought affecting large parts of the state.
Gahlot highlighted that the prolonged dry spell has depleted water sources and left livestock without adequate fodder, threatening the livelihoods of farmers and herders. He demanded that the government officially declare the affected districts, such as Giridwar, as drought zones and launch emergency assistance.
He called for immediate measures including distribution of fodder, provision of drinking water for animals, and financial relief to farmers facing crop losses. Gahlot warned that if the administration fails to act, public anger could intensify.
The state government has not yet responded to the remarks. Officials say they are monitoring the situation and will announce any relief packages in due course.
