A court in Madhupura, Bihar sentenced former private‑school principal Mo. Saddam alias Mo. Akib to 20 years imprisonment and a ₹50,000 fine for kidnapping and raping a minor student.

A district court in Madhupura, Bihar, on Wednesday handed down a harsh verdict against Mo. Saddam, also known as Mo. Akib, a former principal of a private school. He was convicted of kidnapping and raping a minor student and was sentenced to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment along with a fine of ₹50,000.

The case stemmed from the abduction of a school‑going girl, after which the accused allegedly assaulted her. Investigation by local police led to his arrest and subsequent trial, during which the prosecution presented evidence linking the former headmaster to the crime.

The judge emphasized the gravity of the offences, noting that the protection of children is a paramount concern. The court ordered the fine to be paid to the victim’s family as part of the restitution.

Legal experts said the verdict underscores the judiciary’s zero‑tolerance stance on sexual crimes against minors, especially when perpetrated by individuals in positions of authority.
