A flamingo trapped on a 220kV power line 100 feet above ground in Kankani village near Jodhpur was rescued after power was cut for 2½ hours. The bird’s leg was broken, but it survived the ordeal.
A flamingo was found clinging to a 220kV high‑voltage line in Kankani village, about 25 kilometres from Jodhpur. The bird was perched roughly 100 feet above the ground and had a broken leg, making it unable to fly or move. Local authorities and volunteers cut the power to the line and began a rescue operation that lasted two and a half hours. After careful handling, the flamingo was safely lowered to the ground and handed over to wildlife officials for medical care.
