A Scorpion bus traveling from Bhopal to Ranchi caught fire near Kumhari on the Damoh‑Katni highway on Friday evening. All five passengers, identified as residents of Jharkhand, managed to get out safely.

A passenger bus branded Scorpion, plying the Bhopal‑Ranchi route, erupted in flames on Friday evening near the Tedha Nala area of Kumhari police station on the Damoh‑Katni road in Madhya Pradesh. The incident was reported by local authorities as the vehicle caught fire suddenly while traveling along the highway.

According to the police, five occupants were inside the bus at the time of the blaze. All five, who are said to be residents of the neighboring state of Jharkhand, were able to evacuate the vehicle without sustaining serious injuries.

Emergency services arrived promptly, extinguished the fire and secured the scene. No fatalities were reported, and investigations are underway to determine the cause of the fire.
