The Election Commission of India has registered a criminal complaint against six officials, including the Chief Medical Health Officer and Deputy Health Officer, for alleged embezzlement of ₹60.60 lakh and irregular payments within the Dindori health department.
The Election Commission of India (ECI) has lodged a formal FIR against six officials of the Dindori health department, citing allegations of embezzlement amounting to ₹60.60 lakh and irregular payments.
Among the accused are the Chief Medical Health Officer (CMHO) and the Deputy Health Officer (DHO), along with four other staff members whose names have not yet been disclosed publicly. The complaint details that the funds were allegedly siphoned through unauthorized transactions and irregular disbursements.
The FIR, filed on Thursday, triggers a criminal investigation by the local police and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) may be called in if the case warrants further scrutiny. The ECI’s action reflects its mandate to ensure electoral integrity and financial accountability in public offices.
Officials from the Dindori district health office have yet to comment on the allegations. The investigation will examine bank records, payment vouchers, and other financial documents to substantiate the claims of misappropriation.
