Preliminary investigations by local authorities indicate that the structure’s foundation was inadequate and that ongoing basement construction weakened the building further, leading to the sudden failure.
Emergency services arrived within minutes and launched a rescue operation. Rescue teams, including fire‑fighters and police, worked through the debris to locate survivors. The collapse resulted in at least one fatality, with several others injured and taken to nearby hospitals for treatment.
