In Lalru near Mohali, the statewide Punjab bandh was observed completely, prompting local farmers to stage a protest march.
The bandh, called across Punjab, resulted in shut down of markets, offices and transport services in Lalru. Residents reported that shops remained closed and vehicular movement was minimal throughout the day.
In response to the bandh, a group of local farmers gathered at the main square and took out a peaceful march, raising slogans against the shutdown and expressing their grievances.
Authorities monitored the situation to ensure law and order was maintained, and no incidents of violence were reported during the march.
