The government has announced a seven‑day extension to the ongoing farmer registration drive, giving stakeholders additional time to enrol.
New Delhi – The Ministry of Agriculture has issued a circular extending the deadline for the current farmer registration scheme by seven days. The original cut‑off, set for early next week, will now be pushed to the end of the month, allowing more farmers to complete the online and offline enrolment process.
Officials said the extension aims to address technical glitches reported by rural users and to accommodate farmers in remote districts who faced connectivity issues. Additional help desks and mobile registration units will be deployed in affected areas to ensure smooth participation.
The registration is a prerequisite for accessing several government subsidies, crop‑insurance schemes, and credit facilities. Authorities have urged eligible farmers to take advantage of the extra time to avoid missing out on benefits.
Stakeholders, including farmer unions, welcomed the move, noting that the extra window could improve the overall enrollment rate and ensure that more beneficiaries receive intended support.
