Fake Income Tax Officers Rob Trader of ₹3 Crore Jewellery in Ajmer’s Nasirabad

Around ₹3 crore worth of gold and silver jewellery were stolen from a trader’s house in Nasirabad, Ajmer, by men posing as Income Tax officers. Police arrested six suspects within three hours using CCTV and technical evidence.
A group of thieves entered a trader’s residence in Nasirabad, a suburb of Ajmer in Rajasthan, claiming to be Income Tax officials. They arrived in a Maruti Scorpio and, after presenting forged documents, seized jewellery estimated at roughly three crore rupees in gold and silver.
Local police, alerted to the robbery, quickly reviewed CCTV footage and other technical data from the scene. Within three hours of the incident, investigators identified and apprehended six individuals believed to be involved in the heist.
The arrested suspects are being held for further questioning, and the investigation continues to determine whether the fake officials were part of a larger organised network. Authorities have urged the public to remain vigilant against impersonation of government officials.
