Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has directed a comprehensive seismic assessment in the districts of Nashik and Palghar following a series of tremors that shook the region.

The order, issued through a government notification, calls for a team of geologists and civil engineers to conduct ground‑penetrating radar surveys, borehole drilling, and structural inspections of hospitals, schools and major roads. The assessment aims to identify any hidden faults and assess the risk of future seismic activity.
Officials said the survey would be completed within 30 days, with findings reported to the Chief Minister’s office. The data will inform any necessary reinforcement measures and guide future building codes in the affected areas.
