Excise officers conducting vehicle checks near Rajiv Gandhi International Airport confiscated 123 bottles of liquor sourced from Goa and Delhi.
Hyderabad police and Telangana Excise Department officials carried out routine vehicle inspections in the vicinity of Rajiv Gandhi International Airport. During the checks, they discovered and seized a total of 123 liquor bottles that had been transported from Goa and Delhi. The seized stock is believed to be part of an illegal distribution network targeting the city.
The operation underscores the state's ongoing crackdown on illicit liquor trade, which authorities say poses health risks and deprives the government of revenue. Officials have not disclosed whether any arrests were made, but the confiscated bottles will be retained as evidence for further investigation.
The excise team’s swift action was praised by local law‑enforcement officials, who emphasized that similar checks will continue at key transit points to deter smuggling activities.
