The Edinburgh International Film Festival announced that its 2028 edition will feature a tribute to the 1998 Bollywood hit 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai'.
Edinburgh International Film Festival (EIFF) has confirmed that its 2028 programme will include a dedicated celebration of the Bollywood classic "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai". The decision reflects the festival's growing emphasis on showcasing landmark films from diverse cinematic traditions.
The 1998 romantic drama, directed by Karan Johar, is slated to be screened as part of a special segment that highlights influential Indian cinema. Organisers said the inclusion aims to introduce the film to new audiences while offering longtime fans a nostalgic experience.
Festival officials did not disclose the exact screening dates or additional events such as panel discussions, but they indicated that the tribute will be integrated into the broader schedule that runs annually in Edinburgh, Scotland. The move underscores EIFF's commitment to a global film dialogue and marks a notable nod to Indian popular culture on an international stage.
