ECI to Audit Uttar Pradesh’s Election Readiness Starting Monday

The Election Commission of India announced that a team of officials will visit Uttar Pradesh from Monday to evaluate the state's readiness for the upcoming assembly elections scheduled later this year. The review will examine voter‑list accuracy, polling‑station infrastructure, security arrangements and the deployment of electronic voting machines, according to a commission statement. Uttar Pradesh’s Chief Electoral Officer welcomed the inspection, saying it will help address any gaps and ensure smooth conduct of the polls. The commission has previously carried out similar assessments in other states. The assessment comes amid heightened political activity in the state, with major parties gearing up for the contest, while details of the review team and the timeline for the final report remain undisclosed.
