A drunken driver in Jalandhar sped through traffic, hit stationary vehicles and flipped his car, leading to three arrests.
Police in Jalandhar responded to a report of a vehicle moving at high speed under the influence of alcohol. The driver lost control, collided with several parked cars and the impact caused the car to overturn on the road.
Investigators arrived at the scene, secured the area and identified the driver as the primary suspect. He, along with two accomplices who were present in the vehicle, were taken into custody for violating traffic and narcotic laws.
Authorities have launched a formal case under the Punjab Motor Vehicles Act and the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The incident underscores the ongoing challenge of drunk‑driving in the state, prompting police to intensify random breath‑alyzer checks across the region.
