Drone sighted near Amritsar airport sparks panic

A drone was observed close to Amritsar's international airport, prompting alarm among authorities and travellers.
Security officials reported that a small unmanned aerial vehicle was spotted hovering near the perimeter of Amritsar International Airport early on Wednesday. The sighting triggered immediate alerts, and airport personnel initiated standard lockdown procedures to ensure the safety of passengers and aircraft operations.
The Civil Aviation Ministry was informed, and the airport's security team coordinated with local police to locate and neutralise the drone. According to officials, no aircraft were affected and the incident did not result in any injuries or damage.
