Security forces intercepted a drone that released suspected weapons and RDx supplies near the Ganganagar border in Rajasthan, recovering 650 cartridges and detaining two Punjab residents.
Security agencies in Rajasthan were alerted to a drone activity near the international border in the Ravla area of Shri Ganganagar district. The unmanned aircraft is reported to have dropped a package containing unidentified weapons and a shipment of RDx material.
A joint operation by the Border Security Force and local police recovered approximately 650 ammunition cartridges from the drop site. The seized items are being examined to determine their origin and potential threat level.
Investigators also apprehended two young men from Punjab who are suspected of coordinating the aerial delivery. Both detainees are being questioned about the source of the drone and any links to cross‑border smuggling networks.
Following the incident, heightened vigilance has been ordered along the Rajasthan‑Pakistan frontier, with additional patrols and surveillance equipment deployed to deter similar attempts.
Authorities emphasise that such incidents underscore persistent challenges in securing the border against illicit arms transfers and stress the importance of inter‑state cooperation in counter‑smuggling efforts.
