The film Drishyam 3 earned the sixth‑largest opening day collection in Bollywood history, out‑earning Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan on its first day.
Drishyam 3 opened to a historic day‑one gross that places it sixth among all Bollywood releases, overtaking Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan in the same metric. The strong debut underscores the franchise’s continued appeal and the star power of its lead, Ajay Devgn.
The third installment of the Drishyam series, directed by the original filmmaker, drew large crowds across major metros and tier‑2 cities, reflecting a broad-based audience interest. Early reports indicate that the film’s opening outperformed Pathaan’s first‑day earnings, marking a notable shift in the current box‑office landscape.
Industry analysts view the result as a boost for content‑driven cinema, suggesting that sequels with strong narratives can rival big‑budget star vehicles. The film’s performance is expected to influence distribution strategies for upcoming releases this holiday season.
