DRDO Completes Three Successful VSHORADS Flight Trials from Odisha Test Range

The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has successfully completed three consecutive flight trials of the Very Short Range Air Defence System (VSHORADS) from its Integrated Test Range in Odisha. The VSHORADS platform, designed to counter low‑altitude aerial threats, was launched and guided through a series of test flights that assessed its radar, missile guidance and engagement capabilities. The trials, carried out at the Integrated Test Range, confirmed the system’s ability to detect, track and engage target aircraft at short ranges, reinforcing India’s self‑reliance in air defence technology. DRDO officials said the successful flight tests bring VSHORADS closer to operational deployment and integration with other air defence assets.
