DJ Load Pickup Capsizes Near Semra Mor, Shahdol; 1 Dead, 9 Injured

A DJ Load pickup en route to a Durga idol immersion ceremony overturned near Semra Mor in Shahdol on Wednesday evening, killing Kamlesh Baiga and injuring nine others, two of them seriously.
On Wednesday evening, a DJ Load pickup traveling to a Durga idol immersion event lost control and overturned near Semra Mor, a locality in the Gohparu police jurisdiction of Shahdol, Madhya Pradesh. The vehicle, reportedly carrying several participants of the immersion ceremony, rolled onto its side, trapping occupants inside.
Rescue teams arrived promptly and extricated the victims. Kamlesh Baiga, one of the passengers, was pronounced dead at the scene. Nine other occupants sustained injuries of varying severity; two of them remain in critical condition at the district hospital while the rest are receiving treatment for non‑life‑threatening wounds.
Local authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the accident, examining factors such as vehicle condition, driver fatigue and road conditions. Police have appealed to witnesses for information and have urged the public to exercise caution during festive processions and related travel.
