Divit Aulakh, son of speed‑record holder Dinesh Aulakh, was laid to rest today at Model Town cemetery in Jalandhar, with numerous veteran artists and political leaders in attendance.
The funeral of Divit Aulakh took place on Saturday at the Model Town crematorium ground in Jalandhar, Punjab. The ceremony was attended by a large gathering of senior artists from the Punjabi entertainment industry, local political figures, and members of the public who arrived with tearful eyes to pay their respects.
Divit, 27, was the only son of Dinesh Aulakh, a well‑known speed‑record holder who had previously set several motorcycle milestones. The young man lost his life in a high‑speed road accident on the national highway earlier this month, a tragedy that shocked the regional community.
Family members, including Dinesh Aulakh, stood beside the funeral pyre while leaders and fellow performers offered brief condolences. Several artists laid flowers and recited verses, reflecting the close ties Divit had forged within the cultural circle.
The somber event concluded with the traditional rites, after which mourners dispersed, vowing to remember Divit’s vibrant spirit and the loss felt across both the sports and entertainment fraternities.
