Former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Digvijaya Singh claimed that donations collected for the Ram Temple were diverted to construct offices for the BJP and RSS. BJP minister Vishwas Sarang demanded proof of the allegations.
Former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Digvijaya Singh publicly asserted that money raised for the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya had been misappropriated to build offices for the Bharatiya Janata Party and its ideological partner, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. Singh made the allegation during a press interaction in Bhopal, stating that the funds meant for a religious project were diverted for partisan infrastructure.
The claim has sparked a sharp political backlash. BJP state minister Vishwas Sarang responded by urging Singh to produce documentary evidence to substantiate his accusations. Sarang emphasized that any misuse of donations would be a serious breach of public trust and that the party is ready to address the matter if proof is presented.
As of now, no concrete documents or financial records have been released by Singh’s camp. Both parties remain entrenched in a verbal exchange, with the BJP dismissing the allegations as unfounded while the opposition seeks to keep the issue in the public eye.
The controversy adds to the broader debate over the handling of Ram Temple contributions, a subject that has attracted scrutiny from various political quarters across the country.
