The Delhi government announced the establishment of two new pollution certificate centres at Anand Vihar and Sarai Kale Khan to streamline emissions testing for vehicles.

The Delhi administration has approved the setting up of two dedicated pollution certificate centres, one at Anand Vihar and another at Sarai Kale Khan. These facilities will provide a single‑window service for obtaining pollution under‑control (PUC) certificates, a mandatory requirement for all motor vehicles in the capital.

Officials said the centres will be equipped with modern testing equipment to ensure accurate measurement of vehicular emissions. By centralising the process, the government aims to reduce queues at existing PUC stations and curb the circulation of vehicles that fail to meet emission norms.

The new centres are expected to become operational within the next few weeks, and the authorities will launch a public awareness campaign to inform commuters about the locations and operating hours. The move aligns with Delhi's broader strategy to improve air quality and enforce stricter compliance with pollution standards.
