Delhi is forecasted to receive light showers today, while meteorological departments warn of heavy rainfall in parts of South India.
Delhi is expected to see light showers today, with precipitation likely between 10 and 15 mm, mainly in the afternoon. The India Meteorological Department has issued a 40‑hour outlook for the capital, noting that the showers are expected to be brief and not cause significant disruptions.
In contrast, parts of South India—including Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka—are forecast to receive heavy rainfall. Meteorologists predict 30 to 50 mm of rain in some districts, with the heaviest showers occurring between 6 and 9 a.m. local time.
The department has issued warnings for farmers and advised motorists to exercise caution on wet roads. Local authorities in affected states have urged residents to stay alert to possible flash floods, especially in low‑lying areas.
Travelers are advised to check updated weather alerts before heading out, as heavy rains could delay flights and cause road closures in coastal regions.
