Delhi experienced intense rainfall, with the Indian Meteorological Department warning of another wet spell expected around midnight.
Delhi was drenched in heavy rain earlier today, causing widespread traffic disruptions and flooding in several low‑lying areas. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a warning that a further wet spell is likely to hit the city around midnight, urging residents to stay alert.
The sudden downpour led to the closure of major roads and the suspension of several public transport services. Local authorities have deployed additional water pumps to mitigate the flooding.
Residents in the northern and western parts of the city reported waterlogging on streets and in markets. The Delhi Transport Corporation has advised commuters to check bus schedules before traveling.
The IMD’s forecast indicates that the rainfall may continue into the early hours, with temperatures hovering around 20°C. Authorities have requested citizens to avoid unnecessary travel and to keep emergency contacts handy.
