Resident Welfare Associations across Delhi have lodged complaints alleging widespread, unregulated firecracker use during the current festive period.
Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) in several Delhi neighborhoods have formally reported that firecrackers are being ignited without any apparent oversight during the ongoing festive celebrations. The associations claim that the activity is occurring across multiple colonies, often late into the night.
The RWAs have highlighted concerns over public safety, excessive noise, and heightened air pollution, noting that the unregulated bursting contravenes existing municipal rules on firecracker usage. They have appealed to the Delhi Municipal Corporation and the police to intervene and enforce the stipulated restrictions.
Authorities have not yet issued a public statement, but the complaints have prompted calls for stricter monitoring and immediate action to curb illegal firecracker sales and usage in the city.
