The Delhi police announced a plan to install 250 surveillance cameras and monitor potential disruptors ahead of the INDIA bloc rally scheduled for November 1.

Delhi police issued a security directive on Monday, stating that a network of 250 new CCTV cameras will be set up across strategic points in the capital before the INDIA bloc rally on November 1. The move aims to bolster surveillance and deter any attempts to disturb the political gathering.

The cameras are slated for installation in areas surrounding the rally venue, major thoroughfares, and public transport hubs that are expected to see heavy footfall. Officials said the equipment will be linked to a central monitoring hub to provide real‑time footage to command centres.

In addition to the visual surveillance, the police have activated a task force to track individuals or groups deemed "nefarious elements" who might seek to disrupt the event. Coordination with intelligence agencies and local law‑enforcement units will help identify and pre‑empt any hostile activity.

The INDIA bloc rally, organized by the opposition coalition, is expected to draw large crowds and political leaders from across the country. Authorities emphasized that the security measures are routine for high‑profile public events and are intended to ensure a peaceful assembly.
