Dasara Ambari Training Halted as Mahendra Ane Nearly Forced Out After Captain Race Incident
During a Dasara Ambari training session, the horse suffered a major setback, leaving jockey Mahendra Ane almost out following an incident with the horse Captain Race.
The Dasara Ambari training session was abruptly disrupted when the horse suffered a severe setback, halting the routine midway. The incident occurred during preparations for the upcoming Dasara festivities, a key event in the region's equestrian calendar.
Jockey Mahendra Ane, who was slated to ride the Ambari, was nearly forced out of the competition after a clash with another horse named Captain Race. Sources indicated that the encounter left Ane injured enough to consider withdrawal.
Officials have not released detailed medical reports, but they confirmed that the training was stopped to assess the condition of both horses and the jockey. The event underscores the risks involved in high‑profile horse racing preparations.
Stakeholders are monitoring the situation closely, with the possibility of Mahendra Ane being replaced if his recovery does not permit participation in the upcoming race. The Ambari team remains hopeful of a swift resolution.
