The Amritsar bypass has turned into a frequent accident zone because of deteriorating road surfaces and broken culverts, reports say.

The stretch of road that skirts Amritsar, known as the Amritsar bypass, is now being described as an accident hotspot. Local observers attribute the rise in collisions to crumbling road pavement and several culverts that have been damaged over time. Motorists report sudden potholes and waterlogging at the compromised culvert sites, forcing abrupt braking and loss of control. Transport officials have been urged to inspect the bypass urgently and undertake repairs to restore safety for commuters. Until remedial work is completed, drivers are advised to exercise heightened caution while traversing the route.
