Over 20 flights were cancelled across Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh as Cyclone Muras approaches, with airlines urging passengers to check schedules.
Cyclone Muras, a powerful low‑pressure system forming over the Bay of Bengal, has intensified as it moves toward the eastern coast of India. The storm’s projected path has prompted authorities in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh to take precautionary measures.
In response to the growing threat, airlines operating from major hubs such as Chennai, Tirupati, and Visakhapatnam have cancelled more than 20 scheduled flights. The cancellations include both domestic and international services, with several carriers suspending operations for the next 24 hours.
The Airports Authority of India and local transport departments have issued advisories urging passengers to verify flight status and consider alternative travel arrangements. Travelers are also advised to monitor weather updates and follow safety guidelines issued by the Indian Meteorological Department.
While the cancellations aim to safeguard lives, they have already disrupted travel plans for thousands of passengers. Airlines have set up helplines and online support to assist affected travelers with rebooking and refunds.
