The Central Reserve Police Force recovered weapons and explosive material from fourteen Maoist caches in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh, officials said.
New Delhi – The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) announced that it has confiscated a large stock of firearms, ammunition and improvised explosive devices from fourteen separate Maoist hide‑outs in Bijapur district, Chhattisgarh. The operation, carried out over several days, targeted known insurgent strongholds identified through intelligence inputs.
According to a statement released by the CRPF, the recovered material includes assault rifles, pistols, hand‑grenades and a significant quantity of raw explosives that could be used to manufacture bombs. Security officials said the caches were concealed in forested areas and abandoned structures, typical of Maoist logistical networks.
The seizure is expected to disrupt the supply chain of the banned Communist Party of India (Maoist) in the region, which has been active in the dense forest belts of central India. The force has intensified anti‑insurgency operations in the state following a series of attacks on security personnel earlier this year.
State police and CRPF teams will continue to monitor the area for any further insurgent activity, while forensic teams examine the recovered items for forensic leads. No casualties were reported during the operation.
