A senior CPI(M) leader has accused the BJP of interfering with the nomination process for the upcoming civic polls in Tripura.
A senior leader of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) publicly alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party obstructed the filing of nomination papers for the forthcoming civic elections in Tripura. The claim was made during a press interaction, where the CPI(M) representative said that BJP functionaries prevented prospective candidates from completing the required paperwork. The leader asserted that such interference could undermine the fairness of the electoral process. Tripura's municipal bodies are set to hold elections that will determine local governance across several towns and cities, making the nomination phase a critical step. Election officials have not yet issued a statement on the allegations, and the BJP has declined to comment on the matter at this stage.
