Contractual health staff in Andhra Pradesh have temporarily halted their strike following discussions with government officials, while their joint action committee maintains its core demands.
Contract health employees in Andhra Pradesh have called off their ongoing strike after meeting with senior government officials. The pause comes after a series of negotiations aimed at addressing grievances related to pay, benefits and job security.
The Joint Action Committee (JAC) representing the workers clarified that it has not withdrawn any of its principal demands. Instead, it is giving the state administration a window to resolve the issues through dialogue.
Health services in the affected districts are expected to resume normal operations, though officials warned that any further impasse could disrupt patient care. The government has pledged to review the staff’s concerns and report back within a stipulated timeframe.
Stakeholders from both sides have expressed optimism that continued talks will lead to a mutually acceptable settlement, averting a prolonged disruption in the public health system.
